The Jesicca lall murder case seems to be troublng everybody's conscience. The times of India today (25/1/2005) has given extensive coverage of how the high court is going to intervene and see to it that justice is done. This kind of thing sets a wrong precednt and does not augur well for the future. Today, it is Jessica, tommorow, it could be our children.

There is a saying in Hindi "Pratyaksh ko pramaan kya" meaning where is the need for proof when it is obviously apparent. It seems we are headed in the opposite direction. It is a shame at a time when we have two eminent people as the heads of state and heads of goverment, such a thing could happen in Independent India. Fortunately the high court has intervened and the media is taking up the case strongly.

One hopes that the head of state at least should state his opinion. It would not be out of place to mention here that his book "Wings of fire" is an inspiration to millions of Indians since this is a story of scaling to stellar heights from humble beginnings. Jessica was also from a modest background..The president often exhorts the youth to dream and build a better India. With such incidents, we are headed more towarda a Jungle raj and a nightmare.

Mr President, such a thing could happen despite what was seen,
We should dream of a better India, you have always been keen
Our justice system seems to have lost its sheen
Humble folk like us, is it supposed to demean?
Only you can provide a vaccine
Only you can do something to preen
Kindly intervene

You must show to us that you care
You must intervene before people lose hope and despair
If you keep quiet on something that seems grossly unfair
The situation shall be beyond repair
Dreaming shall disappear
Instead, for an ordinary citizen, life will be a nightmare
I am sure that despite your stature, you still think about our welfare.

The Jessica Lal murder case verdict leaves this nation red all over the face. Seven long years for a trial to come to a farcical end. Please Sir, we look upon you, as our Head of the Nation, to ensure that the perpetrator of this dastardly act does not go scot free irrespective of who he is.

I feel if this is happening at our judisury level that common man cann't get justice, then finally common man has to take the law in thair hand to get justice. A innocent person got killed point blank and after 7 years main accuesed for the same set free by our court God knows during these 7 years those accuessed had played with evidence. Log mar jaate hain aur faisla baad main hota hai aur woh bhi galat.

My request to Mr. president to get this case reopened and provide the justice.

I forgot to add earlier that such a hue and cry is made over actor Salman khan and ex-cricket Captain Mansur ali Khan Pataudi killing of an animal and here a human being gets killed in the presence of so many people and yet nothing happens. What a travesty of justice. Strange are the vagaries of existance. Today's paper also mentions a lynching in some rape case. It reminds you of Amitabh Bachchan's role in Virudh where he kills his murderer's son when the accused who is similarly influential tries to get away. Is this life imitating art or the other way around? Either way, such a course of action is frought with serious consequences and does not augur well for the future.

I never knew that "Justice" can be so blind. I am sure that even if Manu confessed to the crime, the court would have set him free for 'want of evidence'

Jessica Lall's verdict shows hw our country is corrupt & how brave our so called PAGE3 people. These PAGE3 people only concrened about their parties & nothing else. Infact Bina & Malini showed be hanged first. How can these two female live so happily after such an incident. Don't talk about Manu & Vikas. Vikas is involved in so many cases specially another high profile case of Nitish. We all are aware that Nitish will also not get justice in her case as in Priyadarshini Mattoo's case.We people don't have any hope with this where all politicians, lawmakers & police are corrupt. We all should at least stand up now & ask for justice. How can all 9 were acquintted when more than 100 people were present at that time. Shyan Munshi you should go somewhere & committ suicide after tis verdict. Why don't you go & wear some bangles. Shame on you!!! This shows PAGE3 people were concrened about money nothing else. As Amod Kanth said all the witnesses were offered money. I am really shocked these days for money people can go to any extend. Ask Shyan if this could happened with his sister than he did the same thing.Shame on our country's injustice.

We want justice now. Its a high Time.Dukh hota hai India ke halat dekh kar ke paata nahi kya hoga.Frankly speaking Money is not everything. In this country, no one get the justice till date. All the murderer & rapist are moving freely. I wish if someone has the guts to rape police officer, politicans or lawmakers daughter or wife. Everyone knows that these are the people who encourages people like Manu & Vikas. ....No Hope for this country, No Hope from our court. We can only raise our voice because we are not High Profile & PAGE3 people but we want JUSTICE.

You are doing a great job dude.I was myself upset for these days regarding Jessic Lal murder trial.How could a democracy like ours have such a system which denies justice to a common person when we know who the culprits are.
this is really disgusting.Now I feel that the system is really the same as shown in our typically hindi movies.
Also I would like to comment on the statement given by SHAYAN MUNSHI.This guy is such an imposter.I saw his recent movie:"RANG DE BASANTI".There this guy is trying to awaken the youth but in real life shayan munshi is a bloody coward.I was really disappointed yhe way he has knowingly let the victims free.If possible try to give my message to him that please do not act such roles which are totaaly opposite his true character.I would be given a chance I would certainly kill this guy as he had done in RANG DE BASANTI.
Lastly,I would humbly request the honourable president of INDIA to look into the matter seriously and give justice to the family of Jessica Lal as well as all the Indians.This justice would be a tight slap on all the politicians and the buerocrats who think that they are the supereme power and make the justice their way.
Hey dude I am always with you in this revolution you have begun.

yes it is a sad commentary on our times and the system which is rotten to the core, its heartening to note there are decent people like you still living and thinking positive about our society. how can the Govt.hope of making Delhi a world class city when the system that we breathe is not clean. Bring the guilty of everyday crimes to the book and punish them mercilessly to set an example to our younger generation which also are being led astray by the media by its over obsession with glamour, money,sex and thrills in day to day life. i am ashamed to even watch the newschannels with my young daughter- this jessica lal and many other incidents only shake the children's trust in the law & order system and no wonder they will make a mockery of it once they grow up.

Today, in wake of the court verdict I feel so impotent because I belong to a society where hardcore criminals roam scot-free after brutally snubbing out the life out of a human being in the most barbaric manner in front of so many so called hi profile people. I feel like punishing the criminals myself but can't do so because I am a law-abiding citizen of this great democracy.

It's a shame. Let's do something collectively so that justice prevails. It concerns each one of us. Let's do it before the common man takes law in his hands. If justice is denied like in this case, the day is not far when there would be jungle raj everywhere. Sure, we don't want to witness 'tooth for a tooth & eye for an eye' situation or even worse 'a life for a life' situation.

what an irony in our law! look at the noise being made over killing of an animal by mr. pataudi or mr. salman khan and here a human life has no value; when a hefty monetory punishment from them could have benefited the wildlife activists more than a year's imprisonment to salman which could do more damage to him as a person(i am neither a fan nor a hater of him though, just an ordinary guy pointing out the insanity in our system).Day is not far when the people will take justice in their own hands like those harassed women who lynched the rapists in the court itself.

Rule of law is very important for the progress & well being of a nation.The Delhi high court has won laurels in the matter of unauthorised structures which came up in Delhi in connivance with the MCD.
I am sure that Jessica's is a fit case for the judiciary to use as an example that no one can escape justice.
What surprises me is that no political party has uttered a word against this judgement.Valentine's day attracts the wrath of our so called consience keepers.Are we to understand that it is Indian culture to allow a murderer to go scot free even if it was committed in front of 100 people?
The police , prosecution & the people present are all spineless in front of the power of the supporters of the accused.The whole world knows who murdered Jessica except the police & the court.What a farce.
Lastly,the state & centre is under congress rule.This party is being headed by a lady whom we all respect.This is a glorious oppurtunity for her to send a message to all that law is above all.

The case just looks like leaf out of a bollywood film.Do intervene for the sake of truth

According to one kural

"The scales of justice are held even,by people of virtue and integrity "

Apparently the judge who passed the verdict on the jessica lal case was not one but definitely a just and learned man like u can bring justice to the girl and thus bringing hope to millions of people in India who have lost confidence in our judiciary system.

so do intervene for the people of ur beloved country and do what u feel is just.

It is surprising that everybody is mentioning the President when we also have an eminent personality in the Prime minister. I remember how Mr Manmohan Singh used to come in a simple Maruti 800 asking for votes when he was the congress candidate of South Delhi a few years ago.He also represents a glorious middle class success story like the President. Jesicca lal was also from the middle class. He too should say something as everything cannot be misinterpreted in terms of a conflict between the Judiciary and the executive :-

Why Mr Kalaam alone, Mr Prime Minister, you too are the head of the government
We want that you should also comment
Don’t you think that with this event,
The wrong kind of signals are being sent
If justice can be so easily bent,
By money that could have been better spent
Generations to come shall repent
This is a fact everyone should lament
Such injustice, who would not resent
Using prose and poetry, their anger people would naturally vent

The verdict of the court was a shame to the judicial system. Everybody knows who is the culprit. The hostile witnesses should be put to lie detector taste. If the people with money and power can get away after committing such henious crimes it is a defeat of the democracy, the entire system and death of our values. A judge has a role beyond being an umpire. His role is to find the truth and if it is not forthcoming he has to initiate action to find out the truth. It is not enough to be content with the findings of the counter parties and pass a judgement just because the victim is not a very important person.

Respected President this verdict has raised the fundamental issues. Sir let the culprit be identified and punished otherwise there is no great pride in living in India. Sir we have to uproot corruption from Indian Society and we are with you in this fight.

In my daily,6 KM travel from home to office, I see the best example of corruption and lawlessness. There is virtually no law anywhere. There are many Manus in our society who would come up with novel ideas of rupturing the law and still walk away with grin on the face from our so called courts. Jessica Lal case outcome is indeed a shameful example by the law and I wish the guilty is caught and hanged. “If you kill someone you do not have any rights to live either.”

It is strange indeed that while circumstantial evidence pointed to the accused as the real culprits, the honourable judge did not take cognizance of it. It also leaves one wondering at the way people can manipulate the Indian judicial system. Right from the Best Bakery Case to the Jessica Lal murder case, witness after witness turn hostile. Reasons might be different and our lawmakers need to take note of this. There is an urgent requirement for a strict witness protection system. All said and done, acts by people like Shyan Munshi - his statement is pivotal to the case - and statements like 'lets move ahead' by Malini Ramani should be vociferously condemned. I just cannot figure out how can Malini still call Jessica a "friend" (as reported in TOI, 24/2/06.

It is clear enough that the investigating officer worked in tandem with the defence team. He should also be questioned. To give an excuse that he was told by his "seniors" to do so is a clear indicator of the integrity of the officer concerned. The loopholes in the investigations pointed out by different National newspapers should be taken note of by the honourable court to restore our faith in the Judicial system.

It would be preposterous to suggest that none of the accused shot Jessica, as evident from the court ruling. Does it suggest that jessica shot herself? Shame! Efforts need to made to reopen the case immediately and handed over to the CBI to be completed within a time frame.

A small reminder to our lawmaker/representatives busy with "Business" hours and "walk-outs" in the Parliament. Would anyone please spare some time and post this question during Zero hour.

This is an excellent oppurtunity for the Legislature, executive and the judiciary to redeem some badly damaged prestige. The common man neds to be reassured.

This only goes to prove that we are not a future superpower. We are a bunch of primitive people where might is right and Politicians and Wealthy are above the law.The Judiciary is trying to run this country but has shown itself to be as hollow and corrupt as the rest of the system. The Tandoor case, BMW case, Fodder Scam, Natwar Singh investigation, Jessica aqittal - these are just a few instances of our flawed and corrupt system The High Flying legal eagles along with the Judiciary must fight this malaise and bring these scoundrels to justice. We should be talking Capital Punishment - this sort of scum will not listen to anything else. Even in Hindi movies the villan who murders in public is either apprehended or becomes a fugitive. How can we allow this to happen? Shame on all of us. We are a bunch of weak, spineless and immoral cowards and it would have been better to be under the British rather than liberated. We are not a free society - we are shackled by the chains of our own creation - a totally corrupt society.

The the politicians who fathered these boys ALSO NEED TO BE PUNISHED AND THROWN OUT OF PUBLIC OFFICE. It seems we have become a shameless nation where people like Shyan Munshi, Ramani family betray their so called friends and let the killers go scot free. Newspapers in their so called P3 shows Bina Ramani enjoying another party on the day of reporting the news.

Police and administration tamper with the proofs. A two gun theory is made up and the incompetent police does not even find one gun. One of the police officer is even reprimanded let alone suspended for their incompetencies.

Vikas Yadav, accused in another case of Nitish Katara is let loose. His father is called Don and politician and not a bloody criminal.

Politicians who for their vote bank politics can change the Supreme Court order by passing absurd bills does not even bother to do the same for a murder case because the accused belongs to one of their bastard clan.

In situation like these it seems better to have a jungle law than relying on judiciary, legislature and other glorious institute of no value.

As a First Citizen, I expect the President to use his vested powers and order the hanging of Mamu Sharma and his accomplices with severe punishment for the others who connved with them for greed be they are socielites or public servant.

JUSTICE DELAYED AND DENIED!!! TO ALL

Yes, I mean it. Today we can read the newspaper and the mere thing we can think of is this only "Justice delayed and denied". The ratio is 2:3. In todays newspaper we can read about three cases.
1. Jessica Lal's case
2. Best Bakery case
3. Mattoo Case

Out of these three the justice is given only in Best Bakery case where all the accuseds have been awarded life imprisonment.
But what about the other two? It remains a big question. In Mattoo's case the judgement dilevered by the court clearly shows that the hands of judges are tied with rules and even if the jugde himself is convinced that the accused is guilty he can do is nothing if there is not enough evidence to prove the guilt beyond all reasonable doubts. The judge in this particular case said "THOUGH I AM CONVINCED THAT THE ACCUSED DID THE CRIME BUT I AM GIVING HIM A BENEFIT OF DOUBT AND ACQUITTING HIM". This statement of the judge is speaking aloud the mess in which our system is running. Here the judge is convinced and knows that he did raped a law student and murdered her there after but he cannot punish him.....what is this? A joke?
Now, lets me come to most talked about case of today JESSICA LAL MURDER CASE. All the accused are acquitted...wow..then who killed her? A ghost? Shyan Munshi...the key eye witness on whose information the FIR was registered with the Meherauli Police Station did said in the FIR:
1. that he saw the murderer and can point him out if shown face to face.
2. that Manu Sharma fired one shot in the air and then another shot in the eye of Jessica.
His second statement clearly shows that the two shots were from the same gun and there is no point of another gun at the crime spot. But the CFSL and Police did cook up something and suddenly a story of another gun erupted.

Well to all of this I would like to say just one thing : " Justice has been denied to Lal's and to all of us and the real culprits are those who did'nt speak up the truth and hide something with them which could have been made the difference......if this is continued to happen in future then I am sorry to say that Justice will not be provided to anyone........and the story will go on........

The verdict regrettably establishes that justice is blind and the legal system leading up to the courts is incurably corrupt. its a repeat of the nanda boy's killing spree, the rape of priyadarshini mattoo, etc., etc. our own daughters and sisters are not safe in India. the public is way to terrorised to speak up much less to act. if only we all got together to fight back at these goonda elements, India would be a safer place. raman

Why is there such hue and cry over aquittal of convicts in Jessica Lall murder case? This is not the first time when the money/power over powered justice of the land. There are many cases such as BMW Accident Case, Priyadarshini Mattoo rape and murder case and manhy more. All these cases the rich and the power full got away from punishment and got acquitted by the courts. If there was some other Manu Sharma and some other Yadav, who are not the sons of rich and powerful personalities, they would have got death penalty by now. Its not just this case but all cases should be looked at, where the convicts have been acquitted. I do not believe that even President of India can also punish the convicts. They are over and above the President of India also. But there is no harm in trying.

When Dhananjay Chaterjee was given death sentence his diffence was that he could have got away had he been from influencial background.Probably he had no regrets for his act but only wished to get away in similar manner to Jessica's Murderer.We like it or not that is exactly the message of the Outcome of Jessica Lal Murder case.
This so called democractic country of ours is only to serve interests of people in power,with money and politicalclout.
Judiciary,police,laws are only for ordinary souls.Netas,Gundas and affluent are beyond all the rules in the indian constitution.Long live India

Jessica Lal Murder Case Is somewhat like movie 'Virudh' Though its real and very much practical.
Knowing of truth is not all, but getting them according to law is main thing.
I wont say that our judiciary system is wrecked! Neither people who are witnesses.
Its money and threat, what else rules ?!
I believe many maybe swearing on witnesses but what they can do if gun point on their someone's closed one. Its responsibilities that make person have fear about not doing things.
If I have to do something, and left alone that no one would be having problem if I die, then I'm ready for it...
But what if someone of my closed one are under threat if I do something..
thats impossible for me then to do..

I dont know if there is someway we can provide justice to this....what can be next option --- SUPREME COURT.

My all Condolence with this case and really unhappy about it.

Monday is BLACKDAY ! PAGE 3 people suxx ! SHOWOFF but having real life --> Nothing !

We use advanced technology and top class covet agencies to identify the threats from out side the country. Probably it's time to use our intelligence system for these kinds of situations, which make the whole nation embarrassed.

We have all the technology and professional bodies who work independently and nail out the truth. Why can’t we use those bodies for cases like this? The judge ruled out the case
As there are no supporting evidences but he didn’t question the police as after 7 years
Why couldn’t they find the culprit? Isn’t it their failure and who’s responsible?

I remember reading in paper/magazine that the father of the accused went to Jessica’s house and offered sincere condolences.

Also, the court bench can voluntarily take up the cases based on the news and the developed story.

Now another face of the problem:

Only this case got due attention. May be the reason is that the case involved people from opulent families and glitterati. But there are so many cases like this or even more worst where the Power took over the truth and justice.

Ok. We’ll fight for Jessica Lal today. Whose case is next? Would it be in the same blog or who opens a blog for the next case.

Did anyone ever think/imagine as how to corner this kind of people who use their power to subside the truth and justice? Or shall we just keep on asking people to get united and shout at some one to listen to us.

If every one in the society abides the rules and morals in all aspects for one whole day, then society is free from all this scum for that day. So, did I contribute my part on a single day? Or did I ever thought of contributing some thing to the society with specific intention to make it better (Of course if my leg is paining, I take some extra care.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~___________________~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mockery of justice ! A blob on the "democracy" that is India. Never before have I felt more ashamed of the system and the way it can be maneuvered clandestinely by a few individuals.
This case deserves a retrial and we, as a nation need to support it. Let this be the last time that the judiciary system is arm-twisted into giving biased verdicts by force or in leiu of ulterior motives.
Mr. President...THE NATION ASKS FOR YOUR HELP;
Not just the Accused, but also the investigating officers and MORESO the Judge (who hurriedly gave the verdict, overlooking the circumstantial evidence) should be brought to task. SHAME ON HIM... And Mr. Bhayana gets a "promotion to the high court" today!!
KUDOS to the City, Kudos to the Media for the open censure of this abomination.. There is hope that we are waking up AS A NATION. A hope that Satyamēva Jayatē (TRUTH ALONE TRIUMPHS), will not just remain inscribed at the base of the India's emblem in Sarnath, UP.. In will get inscribed in the hearts of each and every Indian !!
May The Lord almighty give strength to Jessica's family.
The responsibility for this lies with the Gov., the head of which is the President. If you ask me Nothing has ever happened and nothing would ever in the future. There is only one solution just like the SMS campaign lets contribute and build a huge sum of money pay it to some assasin and get all of them bumped off including the Judge, Cops and who all.
How many Jesicca Lal's, Nitish, Satender Dubey needs to sacrifice before India wakes up.
Their sacrifice is an opportunity for India to set such examples that no politicians/rich/powerfull people dare to play with judiciary again. This can be an eye opener both for India as a whole and those cheapsters and coward politicians and powerfull people who consider a common citizen and weak Indian judicial system as items for their play.
Mr. President, please intervene immediately into this case and instruct re enquiry under strict/honest officials and in a minimum set time frame. Please provide justice to those innocent families of the victims.
If nothing is done then a common man will take the law in his hands since we all citizens are badly disturbed by this outcome and have lost complete faith on our Indian judiciary.
Also ensure that the roots of these perpetrators are cut and their politicians fathers are sacked from holding any political positions and their businesses are seized and called under scrutiny.
Sir! Please make a common man and shattered millions of Indian citizens happy and reimpose our trust and faith in Indian judiciary system.
Nothing less than hang till death sentance should be awarded to those proud perpetrators.
Sir! Intervene and create a better history for our great country.
Yes everyone knows who killed Jessica Lal but inspite of that they have been let free by our Honorable court.
Our polic department and everyone is corrupt.They can go to any extent.
We have a personal experience that we wanted to register the FIR against one company but it was not registered but with the help of our know person we were able to register but you will be surprised to note that inspite of DCP direct supervision of our case the IO helped the accused and before they could be brought to Delhi, the Crime Branch helped the accused engage the Advocate who are regular visitors there. Even you will be surprised that one one from the crime branch was present on the date of hearing and the Magistrate has to give bail to the accused. The IO was changed who infact was very good.
By giving this example I would like to say that even the case that our monitored by the High Ups also get screwed up because IO's are totally corrupt.
NO WAY WE CAN GET JUSTIC AS OUR WHOLE SOCIETY IS CORRUPT.
ONLY PERSON WHO HAVE NO CONTACTS OR HAVE NO MONEYS FACE THE HARRASMENT.
We request that Jessica Lal case should be reopened and they should be punished including the police personnels and others who have hatched the conspiracy to let the case be shut-whosever they may be.
Jessica Lal's murder case once again reveals that roots of corruption in India is very very deep and people having power & money are allowed to commit crime and other illegal things and no one can stop them... everybody knows who is the murder but still he has not been convicted... I feel instead of Manu Sharma had it been a common man the judgment would have been different....
It high time for Indian Judiciary to wake up before it is too late...
I feel ashamed to live in such society. Had this been a case without any influential people involved, we wouldn't have seen acquittals, rather severe punishments, nor would have we seen such media participation. With money, virtually everything can be bought. A spoilt rich kid guns down a bartender just for being denied a drink shows what level can these goons go upto, and still be scot free.
I suggest an overhaul in the judicial system, and taking cues from the developed countries, ramping up the process quicky, and removal of political interference from judiciary and police deptt. On a very serious note, there is no respect left for judicial and police deptt. anymore.
To: President of India, The Chief Justice of India
The acquittal of Santosh Kumar Singh, the main accused in the Priyadarshini Mattoo rape and murder case is a very shocking incident.With the verdict in this particular case, it is understandable why people have lost whatever little faith they had in the country's Judicial system. This is yet another example of the unaccountability of the Central Bureau of Investigation ( C.B.I.) as well as the Delhi Police. The judiciary needs to be overhauled in order to expeditiously deliver justice to people. Some stringent laws need to be formulated for this purpose.
The whole country is with the family of Mr. C.L. Mattoo father of Late Ms. Priyadarshini Mattoo, in this very crucial battle.
It is very shameful for the investigating agencies to help the person who committed this henious crime because he was the son of a senior police official.This case has set a very bad precedent of how people with money and power get away very easily.
We hope that the state will act in a responsible manner so that justice is not denied.
So, we earnestly request you sir to explore all possibilities at your end for securing an effective retrial in the case. This retrial is important to prevent miscarriage of justice and to restore public faith in the state and its institutions.
Sincerely,
Please show your concern and sign on the following link !
I hope there will be some positive outcome of this initiative........
